a side of Malaga that tourists rarely see
Alternative Bike Tour Malaga Ride
Cycle from Soho, through industry lost and to paradise found!
On our Alternative Malaga Bike Ride, you will enjoy a sporty cycle of approximately 24 kms (round trip) to the west side of Malaga and see parts of the city that most tourists rarely get to see!
Discover cool street art murals painted by world-famous graffiti artists such as OBEY and D*FACE in the SOHO neighbourhood of Malaga. This once upper-class neighbourhood that fell into decline over the years is now becoming the alternative, artistic part of town. Passing by the Contemporary Art Museum of Malaga, we then head towards the industrial part of the port and out to the western beaches of the city. Here, rising up between the palm trees, you´ll discover tall brick chimneys- a tribute to Malaga’s once important industrial past. You´ll hear about the growth of Malaga as a powerful giant of industry in the mid-1800’s and all about the factors that led to its decline in the early 1900’s- as well as some local romantic anecdotes. Our final destination is to one of the hidden gems of Malaga- the Nature Reserve of the River Guadalhorce. Cycle along trails lined by tall grasses and wildflowers, around lagoons filled with many different species of birds and enjoy a local snack while taking a break at the only wild beach on the Malaga coastline. And if you’re lucky, you may even see a flamingo or two. An unforgettable off the beaten track experience!
